Good news. Very good news. More and more people choose to use MyGoodPage.com for their daily searches and set it as their default homepage. The search results are provided by Google so when using MyGoodPage you actually get similar user experience as with Google. But you also help the world…!

Online searches yield advertising revenues and with this money we are trying to do good focusing on planting trees. In the past we’ve helped an educational project in South Brazil, sponsored tree planting in Malawi, and donated to reforestation efforts after the big fire on Mount Carmel.

Donating through World Vision

Now, with your ongoing searches on MyGoodPage.com, we’ve donated fruit trees in Africa. We’re doing this through World Vision, a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. While World Vision is inspired by Christian values, it’s important to note that the organization is dedicated to working with the world’s most vulnerable people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.

Fruit Trees are a Bless

Fruit Trees in Africa with MyGoodPage

Apple trees, orange trees, mango trees, and other healthy fruit trees provide the vitamins and nutrients growing kids need. This donation of fruit trees brings a bless to a family in poverty with a fresh start in fruit tree farming.

A fruit tree orchard can produce enough fruit for vital income in just two to three years. Tree seedlings from the fully-grown fruit trees can then be used to help another family lift themselves out of poverty.

Besides continually multiplying, this green gift is also good for the environment. Planting fruit trees prevents deforestation — a major cause of soil erosion that leads to poor farmland and devastating floods.

In Ethiopia, the gift of fruit trees helped Bezalem Dinku start an apple tree farm that moved his family from poverty to abundance. “I was weak and unable to stand on my feet,” he says. “But with… World Vision support, I am to walk with my feet and [be a] source of income for the others too.”

Bezalem used to earn 90 cents a day — not enough to feed his family of five. “We shouldered all the burdens that poverty could bear,” he says. But the gift of fruit trees and agricultural training from World Vision changed his family’s life forever.

Now his fruit tree business employs three people and brings in as much $23,000 in just two harvests. His three children are healthy, well-nourished, attend the best school in the area, and are dreaming big about the future (source: World Vision website).
